In July 2017 Foxtale Ensemble made their way to Canterbury (UK) to take part in Daphne in Three Movements – a multimedia performance project led by Dr Rosemary Klich and supported by Arts Council England.
We worked in collaboration with video artist Stacie Lee Bennett, light and sound engineer Eoin Furbank and performer Daisy Orton. The project explores the Greek myth of Daphne; trees and their ecosystems; physical transformations of the body and body-as-tree; inner corporeal awareness and bodily soundscapes.
The project consists of two parts:
- producing an online performance installation, a series of three 10 min binaural videos which can be found HERE
- and devising a live performance. We shared the work-in-progress in September 2017 at the University of Kent. We plan to finish making the piece in January-April 2019.
